Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. Her initial roles on Broadway included in musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The actress was awarded an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Play to play Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh is a Tony Award winning actress and director, has spent the majority of her career working with prominent directors and actors in film and on television. Ashford is scheduled to be starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It debuts on the 22nd November. Ashford is in the production for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. It's also available as an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford returns to Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This show will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who brought you Hamilton. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. Ashford starred for two seasons on the CBS popular comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Also, she has been in Broadway in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde as well as the original character of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for a Tony Award. Ashford is from the city of Denver origins native, and now splits his time in Los Angeles.
